The starting point of this report was the need to respond to a personal and professional concern regarding the nurse's intervention in promoting an effective transition to parenthood, focusing on the parenting of twins. Thus, in a critical and reflective perspective, this report aimed at analyzing how the activities carried out throughout the different internship contexts contributed to the development of common skills of the Specialist Nurse, specific to the Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health, and Master competencies. The point of departure of this work was the need to respond to a personal and professional concern regarding the nurse's intervention in promoting an effective transition to twin parenthood. The purpose of this report, in a critical and reflective perspective, is to analyze how the activities developed throughout the different internship contexts contributed to the development of common skills of the Specialist Nurse and specific skills of the Specialist Nurse in Pediatrics, as well Master competencies. This formative path was supported by the Theory of Transitions developed by Meleis, as well by the scoping review carried out. Cutting across the different contexts, it was adopted the objective “of develop specific skills of the Nurse Specialist in Child and Pediatric Health to promote the transition to parenthood, focusing on parenting of twins”, which was achieved using the project methodology, based on specific objectives developed in each of the internships performed. In the context of neonatology, the activities aimed at achieving the proposed specific objectives consisted in carrying out a critical reflection on the provision of care to parents of twins, as well as the preparation of an information leaflet about the transition to parenthood aimed at parents of newborn twins and a card celebrating this condition. Regarding the pediatric emergency context, the activities developed focused on a critical reflection on the promotion of the practice of positive digital parenting, as well as the presentation of an informative poster on this topic and the establishment of a nursing procedure to promote the practice of positive parenting in the short-term inpatient unit. In the context of pediatric hospitalization, the training sessions about positive digital parenting and parenting of twins are highlighted, as well as the implementation of the intervention project related to the support group for the transition to parenthood and the underlying procedure that describes the activities inherent to this group.
