: contributo para o estudo das características psicométricas

Abstract

The main objective of the present study was to contribute to the study of the psychometric characteristics of the instruments Experience of Formal Caregiving in elderly – Satisfaction (EFC_i_Satisfaction) and Experience of Formal Caregiving in elderly – Burden (EFC_ EFC_i_Burden). The EFC_i_Satisfaction questionnaire consists of 11 items, divided into two dimensions: “Intrapersonal Satisfaction” and “Interpersonal Satisfaction”. The EFC_i_Burden questionnaire is composed of 18 items, distributed into two dimensions - “Characteristics of the Elderly Person” and “Characteristics of the Context”. The study involved 89 formal caregivers who performed functions in different contexts of formal care for the elderly (e.g., residential establishment; day center). The preliminary version of the questionnaires revealed that both have good psychometric characteristics, in terms of construct validity, reliability and concurrent validity. The development of these questionnaires will allow the needs assessment and planning interventions in formal care settings for elderly people.
