Abstract

The present paper, due to the evolution of International Law, since the fundamental values that would embody the principles of international public order against which the actors of International Law could not oppose are increasingly recognized, analyze the situation that occurred in Syria in April 2018, where the United States, France and the United Kingdom could not be omened, without the authorization of the Security Council, launched a circumscribed air strike to inflict damage on the production and storage structure of Chemical Weapons, which provide indiscriminate attacks, affecting civilians and, in this way violating the principle of distinction, which is fundamental in international humanitarian law. The fact is that even without an adequate legal basis, most states supported, or put themselves in the position of "understanding” the strikes. The implications are discussed.
