Introduction: The excessive use of video games was recognized as a behavior that arises in the context of internet addiction. It has been described in the literature as the persistent and recurrent use of online/offline games, overlapping the other daily interests and activities, often arising related to aggressiveness and emotional regulation. Method: In this context, the present investigation aims to study the relationship between video game disorder, aggressiveness, and emotional regulation. This study will be applied to a sample of 190 subjects aged between 18 and 21 years and 22 and 40 years. The instruments used were the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale (short form), the Buss Perry Aggressiveness Questionnaire and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale. Results: It was confirmed that video game disorder correlates positively and statistically with aggressiveness and emotional regulation. There were no significant differences in the video game disorder scale as a function of gender, although the mean scores were higher in males. There was also a higher percentage in Video Game Disorder in adolescents. These results give us an account of the relationship between the Video Game Disorder scale, Aggressiveness and Emotional Regulation.
