The Therapist's Personal Style, a fundamental variable of the therapeutic process, has been the object of study in the search to understand its impact on clinical practice. With this study we intend to contribute to the increase of knowledge about this phenomenon in the national context. The purpose of this study is to know the correlation between the Therapist's Personal Style and sociodemographic, professional variables and theoretical orientation, using a study based on a quantitative and exploratory approach, of an inferential and correlational nature. For this purpose, we applied a sociodemographic and professional questionnaire and the Portuguese reduced version of the Therapist's Personal Style Questionnaire. The sample consisted of 60 psychologists and junior psychologists, enrolled in the Portuguese Psychologists Association. It was found that there is a statistically significant correlation between some EPT functions and theoretical, psychoanalytic, cognitive, and behavioral orientations. There was also a relationship between the different functions of the EPT and the variables years of experience, work context, membership of professional societies or associations, years of training, time of supervision, age group of the clinical population and type of mental disease. Theoretical orientations, as well as sociodemographic and professional variables, seem to play an important role in defining the personal style of the psychology professional.
