Abstract

Excessive smartphone use can lead to negative consequences such as Phubbing and Nomophobia, and as the incidence increases, attachment relationships tend to deteriorate, as excessive smartphone use is associated with weaker attachment bonds. This study aims to explore the relationship between Nomophobia, Phubbing, and attachment relationships. The sample consists of 208 individuals, with 175 belonging to the Young Adult cohort and 33 to the Adult cohort, aged between 18 and 59 years. Participants completed a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Nomophobia Questionnaire, the Phubbing Scale, and the Adult Attachment Scale. The results indicate that there is a relationship between Nomophobia, Phubbing, and Attachment, particularly among females. The young adult cohort showed higher levels of Phubbing and Nomophobia compared to the adult cohort. Therefore, the results obtained in this study align with the existing literature. In summary, this study offers contributions to enrich the field of research related to the relationship between Nomophobia, Phubbing, and Attachment in Young Adults and Adults.
