This study seeks to understand the relations among socioeconomic status (SES), work control, work-family conciliation and the level of parental investments. Differences in the way parents with school-age children invest in them, were analyzed across SES levels, as well as parents’ perceptions regarding work control. Moreover, the initial aim was to analyze the 1) conciliation between work and family life as a mediating variable in the relation between socioeconomic status and parental investments; 2) the role of work control as a mediating variable between socioeconomic status and work-family conciliation; and, finally, 3) the role of parental stress as a mediating variable in the relation between socioeconomic status and parental investments. The sample included 100 working parents with children aged between 3 and 6 years, who completed self-report questionnaires. The results were analyzed through correlations and mediations, with two hypotheses being confirmed. There was a significant association between work control and SES and work control had a mediating role in the relation between SES and work family conciliation.
