The current report outlines the key considerations and learning obtained throughout my entire professional experience at the Vila Verde Music Academy, including the Pedagogical Intervention Project that took place. This report is divided in two major parts. The first part – Professional Practice Report, has two major chapters. In the first chapter, the framework to present the entity where the professional Practice was hosted, the area of the academic trainee ship and the career path before this professional Practice. In the second chapter, The Journey into the Professional Practice, the supervised teaching Practice it is contextualized regarding the educational project of the cooperative school in which the professional Practice took place, according to the purposes, researching and development activities that had been planned to accomplish the objectives in the field of the specialized artistic education of music. The second part refers to the Pedagogical Intervention Project entitled “New mechanisms and learning techniques on the guitar: Right hand velocity – the index and middle finger case”. Here it is presented not only the state of the art but also the methodology, the instruments and investigation techniques and the data production that have been used. It is presented the obtained results and the conclusion resulting from the development and from the evaluation of the pedagogical intervention. The case study has focused on the knowledge of the ground-breaking mechanisms, strategies and teaching techniques that optimize the guitar learning through the velocity improvement of the right hand in the use of the index and middle fingers (in the current study it is understood by the concept of the velocity of the right hand on the guitar – index and middle finger, the minimum time frame scrolled by the movement between these two fingers). It was carried out a qualitative investigation following a methodological approach to the case study using techniques and instruments of an investigation of a survey based on a questionnaire given to ten classical guitar teachers from the basic and secondary education that teach in Music Academies in the north of the country. They were also used registration sheets and video footage of two different types of “velocity training” in guitar learning. This was done with two students that attend the fifth degree of music class at the Vila Verde Music Academy for 15 days, from the 5th until the 19thApril 2017. The results gathered in the empirical study allow to conclude that there was a significant improvement, and registered in a shorter period, in technical and artistic evolution of the student that has been exposed to the new velocity training parameters compared with the student whose training has followed the traditional principles. These new velocity training parameters have been created throughout the bibliographical review and from the surveys done to the teachers.
