The following report and intervention project have been elaborated during the Professional Internship conducted in 2016/2017 as part of the Master of Music Education in the Catholic University of Porto and in the Academy of Music of Basto (Celorico de Basto). The disciplines involved are piano and choir. As for the choir, we have two assisted classes of the 7th and 8th grades. The individually classes, instead, were performed with the eleven students of the piano class and the main objectives were the strengthening of some essential aspects of the piano performance such as the musical phrasing and touch sensitivity but also the developing of the imagination, creativity and and the approach to the musical world of the students. It has been also realized a chamber music class with a group of students playing different instruments (piano and violin). The Pedagogical Intervention has been realized in the chamber music context within three groups of students playing different instruments and one group of students composed by two students playing piano. The main goals of this intervention have been the introduction and promotion of non-verbal communication in chamber music. During the student performance, it has been possibile to improve some aspects of non-verbal communication thanks to the use of new languages and techniques such as gestures, breathing or glance. The results obtained have been analysed recording the students performance before and after the intervention showed a small evolution in the students, in several aspects. The students have became also more aware about the importance of non-verbal communication during their performance and training as musicians.
