This document concerns the report of clinical activities implemented in the Dental Clinic of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Viseu, in the period from 16th September 2013 to 30th May 2014. This report aims to describe the clinical acts carried out during the fifth year in various clinical units available, as well as to report in detail the procedures and/or clinical conditions considered differentiated, both for their frequency and specificity. The importance of clinical experience is due to the fact that we become fully capable and independent, following the end of this course of study. Clinical teaching units allow the articulation between the theoretical knowledge acquired over the years, and the practice "in situ" with patients in the various areas of intervention of dentistry. Patients are, according to the reason for consultation, stratified and forwarded to the different existing clinical areas, which are held on different days of the week, allowing a more effective approach to the patients, comprising the diagnosis, the treatment plan and the follow-up. In total 76 patients have been observed, of whom 39 were observed as operator. The clinical area with the largest number of attendances was the Removable Prosthesis. On the contrary, areas such as Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics are areas with greater shortage of patients. This may result from the current and biased demographic characterization of the Portuguese population, but also because of the greater availability of temporal older population. Clinical procedures such as surgical removal of an included transmigrated canine, pulp treatment of primary teeth with necrotic pulp, tooth approach widely destroyed in Operative Dentistry and surgical approach to HIV positive patient, were reported and substantiated The clinical approach of each patient allows the appropriateness of individual treatment plans, which take into account their socio-economic context and adapting the modalities of treatment. Therefore, not always the treatment takes into account the best clinical option but the treatment that the patient can do. variables such as age, anatomical characteristics of the patient, presence of systemic diseases, medication, as well as previous dental treatments without success, influence the treatment plan.
