Relatório de atividade clínica

Abstract

This report was developed for the curricular area of monograph and experimentation from the Catholic University of Portugal – Beiras Regional Centre. It reports my clinical activities from September 8 2014 to May 8 2015. It´s main goal is the description and auto critical reflexion of the practical activities developed in a clinical university environment and it´s epidemiological illustration ( genre, age, profession, address, daily teeth brushing, use of dental floss, number of lost teeth, alcohol consumption and tobacco, first consult motive)from all the observed patients. It also quantifies the number of clinical acts performed by group 98 distinguishing those acts preformed as an operator or as an assistant. It englobes and characterizes differentiated clinical acts and performed in the different curricular areas that make up the Integrated Master´s on Dentistry. The methodology used for the elaboration of this report is based on the evaluation of all the patients observed by group 98. The patients data gathered during the 1º and 2º semester were inputted into a Microsoft Office Excel®2013 (Microsoft®, EUA) document. The database allows for the general characterization and analysis of the patients per curricular area, without exclusion criteria, as they limit the number of observed cases. During the course master’s degree in dentistry, the main goal of each of this areas is the gathering of knowledge and competences that may allow, in the future, for a solid practice in Dentistry. All practical activity experienced in a clinical environment during the Master´s on Dentistry, is essential for it allows the development and acquisition of knowledge and capacity’s, and the learning skills necessary for improving doctor-patient relationship, a fundamental aspect and a much needed skill for any caregiver.
