Abstract

The purpose of this report is to present the clinical activity performed in all the different Disciplinary Areas of the 5th year of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Dental Medicine of the “Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Viseu”. To prepare the report, clinical data was collected on the different patients attended by the student during the 5th year of clinical activity. Subsequently, the data was analyzed and distributed according to the different Disciplinary Areas. All data collected and analyzed refers to clinical acts performed in the following Disciplinary Areas: Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery, Periodontology, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Occlusion, Operative Dentistry, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Although in all the Disciplinary Areas the objectives regarding the number of patients are reached, due to the distribution of the patients by all the students and taking into account external factors, such as the patient's non-attendance, this same number does not always correspond to the expectations . However, all the patients attended during the period of clinical activity contribute to the increase of skills both in relation to diagnostic techniques and the application of practical knowledge.
