Abstract

This report aims to make a description, analysis and reflection of the undertaken activities throughout de Masters Course, with a specialization on Medical-Chirurgical Nursing, in Instit Ciencias Saude of Univ Catolica Portuguesa. It concerns the period from april 19th to November 19th, 2010. The internship has three modules: I, II and III. Module I refers to the ER internship, on which I got credited; module II refers to the IC internship and module III, the optional internship, was done on the Infection Control Committee. This report seeks to describe, objectively, the developed process with the purpose to acquire the necessary skills for the Medical-chirurgical nursing specialty, as well as to perform a critical reflection of all the experience lived Module II developed the specialized care for medium and high risk patients, and activities to improve the care given, mainly to restructe nursing logs, on the job training and care supervision As for the optional module, ICC, there was an investment concerning the IACs prevention, VE and the pairs formation t, in an internship context level and also in a work context. As a comom ground to the insternship modules taken, there was the constant demand for improving the care given to medium and high risk patients, through the continuos reflection of the practices in the internship site, as well as through the transposition of the contributes to the work place. This way, one tried to play the role of the specialist nurse promoting and defending care giving quality
