This report is the result of a learning process of learning in a training program, developed in two modules: the first, as part of Module III of the Course, took place in the Infection Control Commission, and the second, which corresponds to Module I, was held in the Emergency Service. Both were enriched by the skills acquired throughout my professional experience in the Intensive/Intermediate Care Unit, which led to the accreditation of Module II. These internships were aimed at developing skills as Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing in advanced nursing care to adult and elderly patients, particularly directed to the patient in critical condition. With this report I intend to reflect on my journey, through a critical and reflexive analysis, describing the activities on the basis of theoretical and technical knowledge, drawing on ethical values and professional conduct, and clarifying the key points of my evolution. In the Infection Control Commission, through organizing and conducting training and broadcasting on control measures and prevention of infection, I raised awareness among health professionals on the importance of preventing infections associated with health care, regarding the promotion of their quality. In the Emergency Service I approached the patient in critical condition in a holistic way, identifying needs, areas of instability and risk of organ failure. Also, I developed the Help Relationship with the family/ significant other, to enhance humanized care, and raised awareness among colleagues about the best care practices, on the topic of prevention and control of infection, through training, supervision and care practices.
