Abstract

This report was conducted within the internship in Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatry inserted in the syllabus of 3 masters course in nursing, Mental Health and Psychiatry Institute of Health Sciences of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and had with main objective, describe and reflect on skills acquired and activities undertaken throughout the internship, as well as serve as an instrument rating. The internship was divided into three modules having been credited with the first module and other modules performed at the following locations: Module II – Centro Hospitalar do Alto Ave – unit of Guimarães: Department of Mental Health and Psychiatry inpatient unit, which allowed us to develop skills in crisis intervention adult. Module III – integrated response center Braga-Guimarães Treatment team – Institute for drugs and drug addiction, Public Institute, where we had the opportunity to work the person with addition problems. The achievement of this stage has allowed us to develop scientific expertise, technical and human resources to provide care while specialist nurse. This report explain the journey carried out in order to attain the objectives initially proposed, the difficulties, the constraints and the new needs that have arisen.
