This document was prepared within the scope of the course Final Internship and Report, part of the Master's Degree Course in Nursing with Specialization in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Escola de Enfermagem (Porto), and emerges from the descriptive and critical-reflective analysis, based on evidence, of the learning process of the internship performed. The internship covered 3 different care contexts, namely, Primary Health Care, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Emergency Service. This document is organized according to the 4 domains of nursing practice - provision of care, management, training and research -, having defined objectives and activities to achieve them, with a view to acquiring and developing skills for specialized care as well as for obtaining a master's degree. The document intends to highlight the path taken to acquire these same skills, focusing on the provision of specialized care to the newborn, child or young person and their family, aiming to maximize their well-being, promote healthy development and prevent disease, in the different care contexts. The role of the nurse specialist in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing in triage, in the Support Center for Youth and Children at Risk, in the Local Intervention Team, in child massage, in the provision of care to preterm newborns, in the care partnership and transition to parenting and care management are areas that have had the greatest impact on the internship carried out and are deepened in this document. In this way, I developed skills in the provision of specialized, personalized and quality care to the newborn, child or young person and their family, making me able to respond to the challenges inherent in child and pediatric health care.
