The hereby report emerges from the forth Masters Course of Professional Nature, in the area of Medical-Surgical Nursing Specialty, developed by the Portuguese Catholic University’s Health Sciences Institute. The nursing care quality was enshrined in an imperative and concerned act from the nurse, this way giving its contribution to the discipline and whole nursing profession development. This quality is reflected in the nursing care provision, which is differentiated and geared to the patient and his family’s needs, and in which the specialist nurse assumes a key role ensuring that same quality. This document reflects the whole learning process developed during this formation and that involved dissimilar nursing care provision contexts. In it, it’s represented the initial established goals, which outlined an intervention strategy, the activities elaborated, the difficulties felt culminating in the description of the skills acquired along this path. The relevance on establishing this report is also the promotion of reflective moments in which we may proceed to a thorough and critical analysis and evaluation on the course held. The medical-surgical field specialist nurse displays of a very rich source of knowledge and technical relational skills mastery and domain that grant him an outstanding acting capability to the patient and his family since they’re experiencing critical health/illness procedures. Accordingly, my intervention took place in three distinct and specific contexts, in the report denominated as modules, which represent the formation’s practical component. The Module I, Emergency Service (ER), in which I obtained accreditation for having served in the EPE Prof. Dr. Fernando Fonseca Hospital’s ER, between 2004 and 2010, and in the HPP Cascais Hospital’s ER in the period between 2010 and 2011. The Module II, Intensive/Intermediate Care, took place in the HPP Cascais Hospital’s Intensive and Intermediate Care Unit. Finally, we have the Module III, which had as actuation stage the EPE Prof. Dr. Fernando Fonseca Hospital’s Operating Room. The report concludes with a chapter reserved for the “final reflection”, where I expose the contributes, the weaknesses and the limitations by me experienced during this formative cycle
