This report comes under the Professional Master's Degree Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing. After the first curricular phase which was followed by the stage, in contexts of practice, it’s now important to make a brief analysis of the course, how it developed and reflecting on its importance for me as a nurse. Not forgetting the skills that I have been developing throughout my work experience, finishing the stage, under the Master Course has enabled me not only to acquire other skills such as consolidating some of the skills already obtained in scope of the provision of care to the patient and family in a critical condition. The stage was divided into three modules: Urgency / Emergency, Intensive Care and Optional. The stage of intensive care was credited for my work experience in Coronary Care Unit of the HFF. In this path, I’ve chosen the HCC to complete the stage of Infection Control and Hospital de Santa Maria, EPE for the stage in ER. With regard to the optional module, the ICC of HCC, the work held with the preparation and updating of standards, according to current recommendations, construction of grids of audit practices of care, preparation of training sessions on control infection, plus all the daily work in the ward. In the module I (Urgency/Emergency) besides providing specialized care to patients of medium and high risk, other areas deserved attention such as: communication with the patient and family, host, service and training on issues related to the control of infections. In both contexts, the bridge between my intervention, while a specialty student and as nurse in the Coronary Care Unit was a constant. With this report, I propose an analysis and reflection of the work I have accomplished along this path, followed by an approach to some of the skills acquires and developed. This report concludes with some final thoughts on the work including references to some suggestions.
