Abstract

This report related to the 2012/2013 school year’s internship arises on the extent of the 2nd year of Clinic Psychology and Health Master’s Degree, from Braga’s Faculty of Philosophy, which belongs to the Portuguese Catholic University, and it aims to describe the activities performed by the intern in an institutional context of the elderly, in order to develop a consentaneous knowledge within the learning acquired throughout the academic path. As such, the internship is an academic continuance of learning, enabling the effective mobilization/implementation of the acquired knowledge through the signaling and routing of subjects for a clinic intervention so as to develop strategies which help to enjoy a better life quality and well-being. The internship took place in the Institution Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Braga, more specifically in the facilities of Nossa Senhora da Misericórida and Dom Diogo de Sousa nursing homes, with the length of 9 months. This report presents, firstly, the characterization of the institution and the performed activities post observation, followed by an individual intervention, in groups, a training action, an awareness action and extra-curricular activities. It ends up by giving emphasis to a reflection of the learnt issues.
