Abstract

The constant technological evolution and sophistication have been constantly reflected in the health area, making professionals widen their knowledge and performance. This way, it is fundamental that the Nurse follows up on this progress, therefore developing the specialized nursing abilities in favour of better service care. It is in these bounds that the Course Degree of Licentiate in Surgical Medical Nursing, that exceeds the practice of an advanced Nursing of a sick adult or elderly person with a serious illness, thus being my main objective the acquisition and development abilities in this sense. The clinical education of this course is divided in 3 modules, which took place in the Hospital of Sao Teotonio in Viseu, EPE. In the General Emergency Service, I pointed out as the main objective being the development of instrumental abilities in the area of Urgency and Emergency nursing, of management and clinical supervision in Nursing. Whereas, in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit, other than the development of abilities in the area of management, the approach of the critical sick person was not negligent. Therefore, the Pneumatology Unit was fortunate in developing activities in relation with management and mainly scientific abilities For each section were defined specific aims in each clinical service. In a general way I believe it has been accomplished. The practice gave me instrumental, relationship, scientific and management competences in the area of Surgical Medical Nursing.
