Abstract

Inserted in the program of study of the Post-graduate with Specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing this report has its main function to demonstrate how the entire itinerary of study contributed to the acquisition of skills as Specialist Nurse in Medical Surgical Nursing, reporting to two modules of stages, in the Pre-hospital and in the Service of Urgency of Hospital de Braga. We will describe the activities/ strategies of acquisition and development of skills, providing systematic examination of life experiences, always allowing global inclusion of the developing skills inherent to the Nurse Specialist in Medical Surgical Nursing, on the advanced care to adult patient and elderly patients with severe disease. Therefore, aiming to become a descriptive and comprehensive instrument of all the dimension of nursing care, we will make an interpretative analysis of the practise of nursing. Divided by Common competencies of nurse specialists and expertise of Specialty Specific overlapping with the Medical Surgical Nursing, which is Nursing in Critical Person, as defined by Regulamento nº 120/2011, de 8 Fevereiro e Regulamento 124/2011, de 8 de Fevereiro, it will begin by the domain of Nurse Specialist Common Competencies, approaching the domain of Professional Responsibility, Ethics and Legal, then the domain of Improvement of Quality, followed by the domain of Care Management and ending in the domain of Learning Professional Development. Then approach the domain of Specific Competencies of the Nurse Specialist Nursing in Person in Critical Situation. Although we didn’t participated in any Research study, we will demonstrate how we based our practice in evidence. This report, more than the description of the journey during the stage, intends to be a moment of reflection and evaluation, demonstrating how we grew personally and professionally towards the acquisition of skills within the Specialty in Nursing Medical - Surgical
