Abstract

Community Nursing develops a global practice focused on Community, supported by a specific competence profile. This report, prepared for the defence of my thesis, as Master in Community Nursing, aims to describe in a brief, clear and reflective way, 3 training modules, as well as the skills developed in accordance with the Regulation of Powers of Community Nurse Specialist, Health Planning, in particular health planning, management programs and projects, empowerment of groups and communities, epidemiological surveillance in the context of School Health. The same aims to show my personal and professional development, compliance with legislation and the acquisition and increase of knowledge about community/groups. The elaboration of the diagnosis of the situation, in module I, allowed to know the perception of teachers of a group of schools for unintentional injuries of students in school; the preparation of a diagnosis of the situation elaborated in Module II that helped identify the needs of the form teachers and parents of students of the seventh grade in a different school, under the Sexuality Education in School and its legislation to verify the needs detected in this module, both populations mentioned, intervened by the same, in module III. In this way, developed the project: “Education for Sexuality: a context of community empowerment”, in order to promote a more effective Community Management within the framework of education for sexuality, in this school, taking into account the focus community management and diagnostic dimensions: professional role (Directors of Class), parental role (guardians of the students of the 7th year) and decision-making (the 7th year students). For this, resorted to various strategies and activities, which include meetings, elaboration of a Manual for teachers and health education for parents, where the community empowerment was present, in order to obtain effective health gains, with the people mentioned. It became feasible to evaluate the impact of this project through result indicators, which have demonstrated their effectiveness and importance with increased gains in health, in this context, where the intervention of the Nurse Specialist in Community and Public Health Nursing has proved instrumental in the acquisition of knowledge/behaviour change of these populations. This contributed to a more effective Community Management and a more effective professional and parental role, within the framework of education for school-based sexuality, taking into account the legislation in force, within this theme.
