Abstract

This report reflects the learning process developed over stage, through a critical and reflective analysis of the skills acquired in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing. The stage was fractionated into three distinct modules: Module I was conducted in Unidade de Saúde Pública do ACES Ave Famalicão, in the context of healthy lifestyles promotion, Diagnosis and Intervention; Module II was executed in Unidade S. João de Deus da Casa de Saúde do Bom Jesus, in the development of skills in intervention units in adult crisis; Module III was held in Unidade de Cuidados na Comunidade de S. Mamede de Infesta, in the field of action of Community Psychiatry Teams. The choice of these places of stage reflects my preferences and objectives which, in turn, go to the development of professional skills consistent with the objectives set out for the masters course in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing proposed by Universidade Católica Portuguesa. With the accomplishment of stage I have aimed to develop and acquire skills that allowed me to intervene in multiple contexts in the field of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, which enabled me to provide care according to the legis artis. Simultaneously, constitutes an essential pillar for the future professional practice as nurse specialist and contributed to personal growth. This report aims to reflect on the skills acquired and developed through the critical analysis of the activities developed and objectives initially set.
