Abstract

This Internship Report was developed to obtain a Master's degree in nursing with specialization in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, sponsored by Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto. Intends to report and describe the activities developed along this route, and still analyze them critically and reflectively. The description of the activities is the result of contact with the internship locations along the three modules. The academic career has developed along the practices carried out in three locations with different specific goals, yet interconnected. In Module I: Healthy Lifestyle Promotion, Diagnosis and Prevention, held at the Unidade de Cuidados na Comunidade Assucena Lopes Teixeira, there was the acquisition of skills in the prevention of mental illness. Contact with mental illness in acute and crisis intervention was realized in the Unidade São João de Deus, in module II, inserted in the Casa de Saúde do Bom Jesus in Braga. Finally, taking advantage of integration already done in the institution, the development of the module III in Unidade de São Luís that aims to develop skills in the field of addictive behaviors The Internship Report is divided into six main chapters; The first chapter refers to the presentation of the Personal Project, the second chapter reports the Scientific Rationale of Performed Interventions, the third chapter consists in module I, with the context of intervention in the Promotion of Mental Health, Proposed Goals, Developed Activities and Skills, the fourth in Module II with Crisis intervention in Acute phase of disease, Objectives, Activities and Skills, and the fifth in Module III with the Nursing intervention Behaviors Additives, Objectives, Activities and Skills. Finally the sixth chapter refers to the Acquired Skills as Nurse Specialist in Mental Health and Psychiatric. The methodology used for the skills development will be expository, literature review and document analysis, and it also includes the use of a simple descriptive analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program, intended to be a document describing
