Abstract

This report is part of the second year of the Masters in Family Psychology by the Catholic University of Braga – Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences. It aims to present the activities carried out under the curricular internship. This internship was developed in Centro de Solidariedade de Braga/ Projeto Homem, specifically in the valence Comunidade Terapêutica, whose mission includes support, therapy and rehabilitation of drug addicts. It took place between October 2014 and June 2015, and it main purpose was the development of professional skills through the application of theoretical models, learned during the bachelor's and master's degree, inherent to the subject area, along with the relevant traits for the exercise of the profession. This report has as its integral structure, the characterization of the institution and its social responses, the role of the psychologist, description and theoretical background of the interventions that took place, the discussion of two clinical cases, a familiar intervention, an intervention programme, a training action and, finally, a conclusion/reflection on the whole internship experience.
