The following document, included in the curricular unit Report, was developed in scope of the Master’s Degree in Nursing, of Universidade Católica Portuguesa do Porto and consists in a fundamental element on the analysis and description of the learning process in the context of Internship in the Pediatric and Child Health Specialization area. The Pediatric and Child Health Internship integrates three modules, namely: First Module- Child Health, Second Module - Medical/Surgery services and the Third Module - Neonatology and Emergency Services. Since I met the required criteria, it was assigned to me accreditation for the third module, for which this curricular unit integrated 500 work hours, of which 360 where in the context of practical assistance and 140 where related to individual work. This document has the purpose of describing the personal objectives that were set and the activities developed throughout the curricular unit Internship and during the professional path, reflecting on the specialized skills developed in the four domains of nursing action: Caregiving, Care Management, Training and Investigation, based on a descriptive, critical and reflexive methodology. This formative path is centered in the assistance of specialized nursing to the newborn, child and adolescent and his family, directed to the promotion of the child development and the adaptation to the health and disease process, in different assistance levels.
