This report is part of the Curricular Unit ‘Final Internship and Report’, which is part of the third semester of the Master's Degree in Nursing with a Specialization in Children Health and Pediatric Nursing, at the Universidade Católica do Porto. This Report aims to present and describe the learning process and the competences adquired and defined in the course, developed in three internship contexts: Neonatology, Pediatric Emergency and Pediatric Inpatient. Through a descriptive and critical-reflective methodology, the process of developing the competences of Master and Specialist in Children Health and Pediatric Nursing, is presented, which are grouped in four areas: care provision, training, management and research. Each area includes the objectives set, the activities and reflections carried out, as well as all the difficulties faced, experiences and learning opportunities. Throughout the report, the competences that cover the different areas of activity of the Specialist Nurse in Children Health and Pediatric Nursing, were addressed and analyzed, such as communication with the child/youth and family; providing care in situations of special health complexity; assessing, managing and controlling pain; promoting the adaptation of the child/youth and family to chronic illness; promoting care partnerships; as well as facilitating the process of transition to parenthood. The process of self-training, critical reflection on care and peer training, which are inherent to the promotion of continuous training, were also addressed. Skills related to the management and leadership of teams, care and resources were also discussed and deepened; as well as the communication and the integration of research results into practice, to guarantee the provision of care based on the best and most recent scientific evidence, contributing to the growth of the nursing discipline. During the course, I based my interventions on the Family-Center Care model and the Care Partnership model, which are essential for guiding the practice of caring for child/youth and their family. The proposed objectives were successfully achieved, which contributed to my personal and professional development, allowing me to provide excellent care for pediatric patients, which is essential for completing my Master's Degree in Nursing and became a Specialist Nurse in Children Health and Pediatric Nursing.
