Abstract

The present report appears in the ambit of the Master’s degree of the Portuguese Catholic University in Nursing Specialized in pediatric and children's health. It intends to synthesize my journey along this internship that eventually lead me to the masters degree in children and pediatric nursing health. This internship has 3 modules: Module I: Children's health, Module II: Medical services/Pediatric surgery, Module III: Emergency pediatric services and neonatology, in a total of 750 hours, of which 540 were used in practical clinic context. The remaining 210 hours were for individual work. Using as guidelines the main goals of the course plan, I’ve set specific goals that were achieved by performing activities explained in this report, that are organized according to the 4 main performance areas of a nurse: care, care management, training and research. The descriptive and critical-reflexive exercise, that in this case has been done based on literature research intends to demonstrate the knowledge and skills and the competences acquired in the ambit of the advanced nursing care to the newborn/child/youngster and family, in the different contexts of the internship.
