Abstract

Community Nursing provides specialized nursing care to families, groups, communities and populations, obtained and developed through specific training in community nursing. The student is expected to develop skills common to a specialist nurse, but also the specific skills of nurse specialist in Community Nursing. Describes the entire journey made over Community Nursing placement and the development of skills in the respective area of expertise. All placements were carried out in the Community Care Unit of Senhora da Hora, which belonging to the Health Centres groups of Matosinhos, and is integrated into the Local Health Unit in Matosinhos. For the implementation of the methodology - Health Planning, was conducted, a diagnosis of the health of the providers of informal care (PC), belonging to the Health Centre of Senhora da Hora and residents in the borough of Senhora da Hora. For a target population of PC 108, there was obtained a sample of PC 30. The collection of data was performed through a questionnaire to determine the needs of the population being studied. After prioritizing the needs identified, a project of intervention was elaborated, entitled "Healthy Caregiver, caregiver happy" with the objective of reducing the overload of the PC. Educational activities were held for to 8 of the health care providers, with health gains of 23.8% and of 10.9% by applying the Zarit Scale, these two months after the last health education intervention. The realization of the integration Manual for Nursing students in the UCCSH, in light of the professional development model advocated by the Ordem dos Enfermeiros (Nursing Council), as part of the placements objectives, allowed the development of skills in management, quality and pair formation. Intends to become a future implementation in all institution to continuous improvement of quality of nursing care, through good integration and supervision of students.
