Abstract

This traineeship was held at the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health (DPSM) of the Health Local Unit of the Alto Minho, EPE (ULSAM) in Viana do Castelo. During the probationary period, it was possible to experiment some different functions that the clinical psychologist may exert. Within the specific objectives outlined in the report, some stand out: the integration and implementation in practice of the theoretical concepts acquired during the academic training and learning new techniques which would make it possible to develop professional skills in an ethical and deontological manner. Regarding the structure of the traineeship report, it is divided into six parts: the characterization of the institution of training, where a brief introduction describes the institution; the characterization of the observation, which includes a description of the first phase of training; the characterization of the intervention, which the activities of intervention are included; the conclusion, in which it was sought to develop a critical reflection on the academic training.
