Abstract
The report of the course "Clinical placement" inserted in the Medical-Surgical Nursing specialization, aims to examine and reflect critically on the route traveled throughout the modules of the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Operating Room with a view to the general objective "To develop skills for the nursing care for sick and elderly adults with severe disease and is specifically directed to the patient in critical condition." Module I (ED) I had credited for the recognition of skills already acquired before,during almost six years of professional experience in the ER of HGO.
In this service, besides having provided comprehensive and direct care to medium to high risk patients, I could also collaborate on several projects such as “Humanization Project" and "Maintenance of multiorgan donors", operating as the responsible of the shift, guiding and supporting students in training and integrating new colleagues. Module II was held at ICU in the same institution between April 19 and June 19, 2010. The choice of training field refers to the fact of wanting to develop and acquire new skills on a practice of excellence in the critical patient and family. Module III (optional) was also performed in the OR of HGO between September 27 and November 19, 2010. The choice of service for training field is due largely to a personal taste but also because he believes that this choice would allow me to meet new realities, to acquire knowledge and develop skills in an area totally unknown to me. For each of these clinical placements will be described the proposed objectives such as the strategies and activities to achieve them. Justify its relevance, demonstrating their contribution to health gains and for the development and acquisition of skills in my area of expertise.
