Developed within the course of Supervised Teaching Practice, of the second Cycle in the Teaching of Informatics, in the Social Sciences Faculty, at the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga, this report begins by presenting our pedagogical internship, in both lective and non-lective aspects. It then develops the theme: "Representations and practices of teachers and students concerning mobile phone use in the classroom,” as a case study. The question that we debated was related to the pedagogical usefulness of the mobile phone, as a technological tool in a classroom framework as a benefit for the action of teaching and learning. The data was collected through a questionnaire survey, conducted in the PES school. The sample group is composed of 9th grade students and their teachers. The results obtained revealed that each group had the own view on the usefulness of the mobile phone use in the classroom. In fact, students demonstrated that they would be much more inclined to use the mobile phone in the context of learning than teachers, recognizing that it had more favourable properties and resources for education. Among the inumerous advantages in which the sample group identified about the use of mobile phones in the classrooom, we highlight the possibility of generating videos, photes, notes and voice memos, which contributes to the recording of educational evidence. Futhermore, the sample group also emphasized that the mobile phone is a tool which can be used to communicate through written messages and emails, with the ability to search the internet and interact online with the various interlocutors. We also found that these capabilities are combined in one device and are available to the vast majority of the sample group, both in teacher and in students.
