Abstract

Indie Campers is a Portuguese company specialized in the rental of motorhomes. They intend to strengthen their presence in the German market through an online marketplace. Although they are already present in this market, they aim to learn about the German caravanning segment more in detail, having a special interest in the German motor caravanowner as they are their primary and first target. To frame this project, a macroeconomic outlook analysis was performed to check the potential of Germany for Indie Campers. Furthermore, a detailed study about the German caravanning market from its economic part to its user was done to confirm or not the potential for the company. This was done using a statistical analysis and the respective adequate models. The reviewed literature regarding the online marketplaces was useful since it allowed to connect the information gathered for Indie Campers with what Academia considers the best practices. The final remarks were done considering the literature mentioned above and the information obtained during the process of writing this thesis with the objective of adding valueto the company.
