Abstract

The present report, under the Master's Degree in Nursingin with specialization in Community Nursing, aims to mirror the Stage Curricular Unit, divided into three distinct modules, with the first and second were held in the Community Care Unit - UCC Infante, more specifically at the health center of Lagos and the third was held in Évora under a National Project, a Non Governmental Organization Médicos do Mundo. The cultural diversity is an indisputable reality in today's societies, leading to important changes in their different contexts. In the health sector challenges are of particular relevance for nurses involved in the community. As regards the area covered by the UCC Infante notes in all councils, an increase in immigrants, leading to an increase of the active population, constituting also a population group most vulnerable to factors such as socio-economic conditions cultural differences and communication. All these factors are constraints to greater difficulty in terms of accessibility to health care and adherence to certain health programs that are critical to public health in the region. The integration in school health from UCC has shown the existence of schools of the 1st cycle with vaccine coverage rates are relatively low, according to the Direção Geral de Saúde. Based on this concern in Module I carried the diagnosis of human health from the Schools of Sargaçal and the English from Barlavento, since they showed coverage rates lower. Confirmed that the cultural diversity in these two schools. Questionnaires were administered to the parents of the two schools. There was obtained a sample of 58% of the total population. What accounted for 43 questionnaires answered by the parents of the two schools. Confirmed the cultural diversity, 55.3% of the sample are of foreign nationality (English, Dutch, Brazilian, Ukrainian). Of the sample, 61.7% stated they don’t had received any kind of local information on the Plano Nacional de Vacinação, 85.1% consider this information important. Of the sample, 87% of parents show doubts and fears about vaccines. In Module II, before the results was developed and implemented the project "Talking about vaccination in the community." This project aims to create a closer relationship with these two schools, in order to break down communication barriers and increase the degree of trust in health professionals of the health center area. Module III provided in different projects derived from community settings, very different from the first two modules, allowing for a broader vision and approach for Community intervention. This route contributed to a personal and professional development skills promoter Specialist Nurse in Community Nursing essential for care proficient at individual, group and community.
