Yoga promises to be an effective therapeutic intervention in mental health. However, studies of its relation to health are scarce. The aim of this study is to examine the relation between the practice of Yoga and mental health, subjective well-being, satisfaction with social support and health behavior in 107 practitioners, of both genders, aged between 18 and 75 years, from the districts of Braga, Porto and Santarém. The study method is quantitative, predictive, correlational and cross-sectional. The data collection was processed through self-report instruments: Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI), Índice de Bem-Estar Pessoal (IBP), Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social (ESSS) and the Questionário de Atitudes e Comportamentos de Saúde (QACS). The results indicated a relation between the time of Yoga practice and mental health, subjective well-being and health behaviors of its practitioners, with the exception of satisfaction with social support, in which there was no relation with Yoga. Is concluded that Yoga fosters a healthy lifestyle and is related to the health of its practitioners.
