Abstract

The present report proposes a new business plan for an Arts and Fashion Festival in Alcochete, Setúbal, Portugal called SARTE:IN - Fine Art and Fashion Festival. The project aims to celebrate art, fashion, and creativity, dedicating itself to young creators across various disciplines including painting, sculpture, photography, and fashion, while stimulating artistic creation and delivering dynamic educational practices. The report starts by comprehending a literature review that delves into the transformative impact of art festivals on communities, highlighting their cultural, social, and economic benefits. It also examines best practices in event and festival management, drawing from a wide range of academic sources. The report continues by defining the company overview and internal analysis, providing a detailed examination of the organization responsible for the festival, including its values, mission, and internal capabilities. The business model section follows the Business Model Canvas (BMC) template, utilizing the respective nine sections of the framework. Afterward, a comprehensive market analysis identifies the target audience, competitive landscape, and market trends, providing a foundation for strategic planning is written. The strategic analysis employs Porter’s Five Forces framework and a SWOT analysis to assess the festival’s competitive position and identify opportunities and threats. The marketing plan and communication strategy are developed using the marketing mix (4Ps: Product, Price, Place, Promotion) to ensure effective outreach and engagement with the target audience. This is followed by an operations plan that details the logistical and operational aspects of the festival, ensuring smooth execution. Additionally, risk management and contingency planning, critical components, addressing potential risks, and outlining strategies to mitigate them is added to the report. Finally, financial assumptions and projections provide a detailed financial overview, including budget forecasts, funding sources, and financial sustainability followed by final notes and recommendations.
