Result of the Supervised Internship Practice, aimed at professional qualification for teaching in Catholic Moral and Religious Education, this work is a reflection on charity, as the duty and essence of the Christian in their relationship with others, based on the encyclicals Deus Caritas Est, by Pope Benedict XVI, and Fratelli Tutti, by Pope Francis, in connection with Tradition and the Social Doctrine of the Church. Starting from the evangelical meaning of the term charity and its etymology, we traverse a path from theory to realization in Christian praxis. Charity does not exist in theory, it does not subsist without praxis. St. John summarizes this truth by saying that “if anyone says: “I love God”, but hates his brother, he is a liar, for whoever does not love his brother, whom he sees, how can he love God, who does not see?» (1 John 4:20). Charity requires practice and, as such, charity is the Christian action, both personal and of the Church. Charity is to be bread for the other.
