Incivility behaviors refer to actions that are disrespectful and violate social norms, and are perpetrated at various levels of severity, with significant consequences. In the work context, job crafting emerges as a strategy to circumvent this type of behavior and increase the motivation and well-being of employees. An experimental study was used, with a 3 x 2 design [Degree of Severity (Mild vs. Moderate vs. Severe); Context (Face-to-face vs. Remote)], in which participants would imagine themselves in a work situation in which a colleague was unpleasant (incivility), varying the context and severity of this behavior. After reading the situation presented, they were asked to describe how they would feel and what they would do about it. In addition, they were asked to respond to a job crafting schedule. A total of 138 people (74% female), aged between 18 and 71 years, participated. The results showed that, regardless of the work regime and the severity of the deviant behaviors, the job crafting strategies used are directed to reduce the difficulties of the work demands, and more severe behaviors in the remote regime have a greater tendency for employees to be more proactive.
