Abstract
Education for affection and sexuality is one of the areas of intervention, in terms of training adolescent in school environment (National Programme of School Health, 2015). The Youth Agenda for Health 2030, "focuses on the areas that children and young people have considered priorities for their health in the next decade (...), the education for sexuality, (...) and violence prevention (...)" (PNSE, 2021-2030, p. 175). Thus, and due to the time children and young people spend in educational establishments, schools are major partners with which the community health nurses, particularly from the school Health team, should intervene and work together. A project entitled "Healthy Sexuality in Adolescence - Community Nursing Intervention" was carried out at a Community CareUnit, in School Health, belonging to a Health Care Centre Grouping of the Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley. Its main objective was to contribute to the empowerment of adolescent students, from two classes of 9th grade from two School Groupings of the municipality. It was based on the Health Planning methodology and on the theoretical framework of Nola Pender's Health Promotion Model. After the formulation of the situation diagnosis, using the data collection instrument and the Sexuality Knowledge Questionnaire, the problems were prioritized and nursing diagnoses were formulated, according to the International Classification for Nursing Practice. In the strategy selection phase, based on the scientific evidence obtained through the scoping review entitled "Interventions promoting Sexual Education with adolescents: scoping
review", health education sessions and the establishment of community partnerships were used, including the mobilization of health professionals and national associations specialized in the area of intervention. Through the evaluation of the results obtained with the implementation of the project, health gains have been verified, due to the increase in the participants' knowledge of the themes that, within the scope of the intervention area, were identified as priorities. The activities carried out promoted the development of skills of Nurse Specialist and Specialist in Community and Public Health Nursing, contributing
to the visibility of nursing as a science and profession.
