This report comes within the scope of the Master's course in Medical-Surgical Nursing, at the Health Sciences Institute of the Catholic University of Lisbon, and its main objective is to describe, through a critical and reflective analysis, the development of scientific, relational, technical skills and ethics for providing specialized care to people in critical situations and their families defined by the Order of Nurses, as well as Master's skills in accordance with article 15 of the legal regime for higher education degrees and diplomas. Thus, it is intended to highlight the importance of the learning developed and consequent critical thinking, for decision-making that contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of care. The objective, through a literature review of the evidence of significance supported by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) method, is to offer the best evidence on the experience of intensive care nurses' care in providing end-of-life care to the patient there. interned and his family, this attempt was also subsidiary to the development of master's skills. Thus, with the aim of developing skills, I chose two fields of internship that provided me with the acquisition of knowledge and qualifications as a specialist nurse in the context of providing care to critically ill patients, these being in the context of Extra-Hospital- Vehicle service Emergency and Resuscitation Physician (VMER) and the Collection and Transplantation Coordinating Office (GCCT). The internship at the Extra-Hospital allowed me to take care of the person in a critical situation and their family, in the second I was able to observe and participate in the complex and meticulous process of organ harvesting, for their subsequent transplantation. This journey and learning process was strongly supported by Jean Watson's theory of Human Care, which highlights aspects such as the soul, spiritual being, transpersonal care, metaphysics and the phenomenological field, these being key factors in helping nurses to provide holistic care, achieving participate in all patient needs (Watson, J. 2018). These dimensions applied in practice promote care focused not only on healing. The Master Nurse in Nursing has a special relevance in the interest of the growth of nursing as a care science. The social appreciation of the profession is something that is constantly being updated, which reveals the importance of continuous training on the part of all those who believe in improving care and knowledge in nursing.
