The information era where we live in is assotiated with changes in tourism and we can see that not only in the kind of offers that exists in the market but also with people’s habits of consumption. One of the necessitiies the internet can give an answer to is the lack of information about our travel destiny because most of the places we visit don’t have information localy. This projet explores the potencial of mobile telecomunications and geographical localization, helping the visitor to walk around the city. The main objetive is the development of an integrated system for tourism composed by an app for smartphones and a street directory that will serve as a point of reference for the visitor. It reviews themes about the internet, the evolution of mobile telocomunications and will approach information design as a discipline that helps to create the necessary elements for the app in order to give an interesting experience to the user, city marketing, location-based marketing and wayfinding. The project presents a development and implementation plan, mockups for the smartphone app and the street directory for the city of Lisbon.
