The present report was developed as part of an internship of six months, on the Department of Budget and Management Control (DOC) of EDP – Gestão da Produção da Energia, S.A., a company of the EDP Group. By performing this internship, I was able to get to know the reality of the daily routine of this company, but also had the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired at the Catholic University of Portugal to add some new value to the company. Nowadays, there is an increasingly difficulty on the execution report of the big and complex investment projects, particularly on the companies of big dimensions. In order to enhance the efficiency of DOC over the control and reporting of the construction projects, I tested the possibility to put into practice two project reporting methods, the Earned Value Method and the Critical Path Method, that during the time of my internship where being considered to be implemented on the company. As a result, it was observed that there were advantages to use both methods, although it has been decided to be adopted only the Earned Value Management Method, for being considered the most suited for the company purposes.
