Abstract

This work comes under the project "Tásse" a Ler, whose primary objective is to combat illiteracy in young people, the five districts of the Minho Valley, whose risk of failure and dropout is all too evident. Today that new technologies occupy a prominent place in this society called "information society" and the book is always neglected in the latter case, it is very important to promote measures that encourage young people to contribute to their reading literacy and for his intellectual and personal growth. For all this we must show that the result of interaction with the book and multimedia technologies is possible that acquiring skills and information literacy and reading levels of academic achievement increases. This work is intended to contribute to the establishment of reading habits, particularly among school students in the 3rd cycle in order to promote literacy, literacy and training of young people in order to increase their academic achievement. In addition, calls attention to the role that libraries, either municipal or school, play as promoters of books and reading and as mediators in accessing, processing and use information.
