Due to the dissemination of the COVID 19 virus, and in order to the prevent its spread, thousands of families were forced to remain in lockdown. As such, working from home became a necessity for those whose jobs allowed them too and online school an inevitability. This adjustment presented numerous challenges for working parents, which is the topic addressed in this study, focusing on work-life balance issues, namely the challenges for women and men teleworking with children up to the 6th grade, and which strategies were used to respond to this new reality. Through a quantitative study it was concluded that there aren't significant differences in the way women and men perceive the conciliation of their work-life balance, going against what previous studies have shown. Through interviews with working parents, the qualitative study allowed us to identify an overloading of women in comparison to men, acknowledged by both groups, demanding the introduction of multiple conciliation strategies which did not appear to be so different between men and women as one would have initially anticipated.
