Abstract

This project is located in the Master of Social Science - Special Education, and aims to identify new stimuli through music and benefits in children with disorders, that can contribute to the modification of their "self" re-educating them to their real possibilities and subsequently improving their quality of life. Music therapy (which can be seen in several cases as a form of Music Education) is an important technique that uses music with the aim of developing children's potential through the use of methods and techniques that help children to loosen inhibitions and engage socially, giving them space for new learning. However, it implies other problematic areas such as the educational community that seeks answers in order to improve their own teaching practices. Based on recent amendments to legislation, Decree-Law No. 3 / 29008, along with our sample (the Special Education teacher, the occupational therapist and teacher of music education) study) reveals that children / adolescents should be encouraged so that their skills and capabilities are developed. It was our intention in this study to convey benefits to all students with special needs, being able to enjoy this art, since it applied and developed in the educational context to facilitate learning processes, autonomy and socialization.
