Digital platforms are assuming a key role in the economy worldwide, creating new opportunities and new challenges for workers and companies. This exploratory study aimed to understand the life path and personal characteristics of digital platform workers, the reasons that led these individuals to start this activity, as well as to explore how these workers perceive working conditions and organizational support and how the experience can interfere with their well-being and with the reconciliation of professional and personal life. The method of this study is qualitative, carried out through semi-structured interviews with ten participants. The results show a sample of workers whose average duration on the platforms is 1 year and 4 months, and most of them had another job besides the platform. The study allowed, in addition to the view of the social lack of protection and vulnerability to which these workers are exposed, to understand the meaning, experience and influence that positive and negative emotions have on these workers, as well as some of the strategies used by them to conciliate of professional and personal life. The practical implications go through giving visibility to the perspectives and suggestions for professional improvement projected by these workers to create dignified working conditions.
