Abstract

Concerning to gender and work research this study highlights the experimental circumstances required the women in the professional and private sphere when subjected to hours of shift work (fixed and rotary). It is intended through the distribution sector workers identify the implications of the daily effort of manage work-life balance. To this end, was developed a survey that has an exclusive female sample that privileges qualitative methodology in favor of the appreciation of the discourses of different experiential journeys, observations of the professional activity and informal dialogues. It became clear from this study the constant need to readjust their working life because all of the demands of an unpredictable shift work. Thus, it is frequent the expression of the feeling of family and social withdrawal which is the most evident damage to the female workers.
