Abstract

The labor market is constantly changing. The implementation of remote work arrangements has assumed particular prominence, with numerous companies implementing telework practices, especially in the era of post-COVID19. The literature has studied the effects of teleworking on employees and organizations, presenting, however, inconsistent findings. In addition, the literature does not yet focus on the distinction between hybrid work arrangements and full remote work arrangements, highlighting the need to study their effects independently. This dissertation aims to answer the question: "does remote work promote job satisfaction?" To this end, a survey was constructed and administered as a source of data collection. Subsequently, quantitative methods were used for data analysis. Different work arrangements were analyzed. This study concludes that remote work promotes job satisfaction. However, the conclusions cannot be generalized to the population, since the sample does not represent the Portuguese working population.
