In the present study, carried out under the Masters Course in Educational Sciences, specialization in Social Pedagogy at the School of Education and Psychology of the Portuguese Catholic University, we seek to know the negative trajectories covered by a group of people and families who are in a situation poverty and assistance. It was our goal to expand the reflection in the perspective of Social Pedagogy, on the issue of a social phenomenon called "new poverty" and collect the subjective perception and objective of some people who find themselves in a situation of negative social change, and the interpretation that have this situation, the techniques that more directly support or work with these subjects. We also intend to investigate the problems and vulnerabilities that these subjects experience in these precarious situations, as well as understand the skills and abilities that people mobilize or not to get out of this situation where they are without means to meet their basic survival needs. The investigation process that supported the research was developed during the years, September 2010 and October 2011.
