Global Virtual Teams (GVTs) are made up of multicultural members living in different locations, with distinct knowledge and experiences. Consequently, these teams, through knowledge sharing and idea discussion, are very innovative and are a great asset to organizations. However, conflicts and miscommunication are common challenges in EVGs that discourage members from transferring their knowledge to colleagues. This study aims to understand how to boost knowledge transfer in EVGs. The chosen research method was qualitative meta-analysis, in order to identify the latest trends on the subject. Thus, the EBSCO and B-ON databases were used and 33 articles were selected, according to previously defined criteria for analysis and discussion. It was concluded that team members being endowed with cultural intelligence and inserted in a collaborative environment, in which they develop good relationships and trust, is essential for them to feel motivated to share their knowledge with colleagues. Therefore, strategies that can be implemented were pointed out, such as the leadership of the teams adapting their actions to the multicultural and virtual context of these teams, through efficient communication and investment in an environment of trust. Additionally, in the recruitment and selection process there should be an effort to hire members with cultural intelligence and technological skills. Finally, the means of communication used, information and communication technologies, should be chosen according to the needs presented by the team.
